Aww, who doesn’t love to make a cute little lovey blanket for a sweet baby? Rose designed this gorgeous little North Star Baby Lovey Blanket for a new niece coming her way soon. She wanted to make something to give to her sister after she heard the news of the new baby coming, so she designed this one skein crochet lovey to share.
This is a great lovey for baby because it has five great points for baby to chew on! It is super soft and easy to throw in the wash to clean. Since it works up with one skein and very quickly, you could make a few of these so the parents always have one on hand.
This free crochet pattern uses the magic ring to start and then is worked in the round. It creates a beautiful star shape that looks stylish and will match at modern baby decor and outfits.

Tips and Other Ideas
- This would look so beautiful in so many different colors! Check out the options at the yarn store and see what will match. You could even make this in a variegated or multicolor yarn too.
- Make a few of these to give so that parents always have one on hand for baby.
So cute! I have some leftover yarn that will be perfect for this so I’m going to try out multiple colors 🙂

I don’t understand the instructions. After you finish row 1 with a sl st. How do you travel to the first ch 2 sp to begin row 2? Do you just stretch over there and begin? And in row 3, it says ” sc in space between the two points”. I can’t see where that is? I really wanted to make this star, but this is so confusing. Do you have any tutorials?
Yes, you are going to work {4 DC, ch 2, 4 DC} in each ch 2 sp around right after the slip stitch to join.
For Row 3, you should see a bit of a space between the two points to work that sc. This is the space from row 2. I am putting in a picture that shows the start of Row 3 and where the spaces are in the pattern. I hope that helps!
Let me know if you have other questions! 🙂
I’m so anxious to try this.
Be sure to share when you finish!
