Oh, the weather outside is frightful….but we still want to look delightful! Enter this cute crochet cabled ear warmer/headband. This crochet pattern will work up quickly with just one skein of yarn and keep your ears warm and cozy and still keep your style.

We find Lion Brand Wool-Ease to be really versatile and they have lots of color options. You could look for another brand in the same weight and it should substitute just fine. Just pay attention to the finished measurements and instructions and you shouldn’t have any trouble.

Hi, I’m really excited to work on your pattern. However, I’m stumped in Row 3. Instructions say to “FPtr around next 2 hdc 2 rows below; working in front of previous 2 FPtr, FPtr around 2 skipped hdc 2 rows below, hdc in next st”. I’m confused because we haven’t FPtr yet and it’s says to work in front of previous 2 FPtr. Are there steps or rows missing?
    Thanks,
    Cyndi

We updated to try to make this a little clearer. Basically you are skipping two stitches and work 2 FPtc and then going back to work 2 more FPtc into those two skipped stitches (all worked two rows below). We will try to get a video up to show this a little further! Let me know if you aren’t able to figure it out!

Looks beautiful! I am not familiar with LB Wool-ease. Is it a basic medium size 4 yarn, or is it more of a chunky yarn?

      Wool-Ease is a chunky/bulky yarn!

I love the look of your crochet headband! Just a little confused with the instructions. Do you have a video available yet?

I must say this is beautiful. I am working it in bamboo yarn, slightly thick, challenging, yet rewarding. One thing, in order to make the 12 stitches across the pattern row(hde, fpdcX2, hde, fptcX4, hde, fpdcX2, hde) you have to start with 12 hdc in the foundation row, not 10. When I finish, I will send a pic. BTW, this pattern answered a challenge sent to me by my niece, to learn how to cable crochet. THANKS for that, I think.😬
