Here is Day 1 of our Kids Crochet Camp where you can learn to crochet!

We are starting with a simple project of single crochet stitches building on the chain foundation that we learned in our introduction.

Each day, we will learn a new stitch and use it in a new project. Move at your own pace and get comfortable with the stitch and then move on to the next one.

Crochet stitches tend to build on the one you learned before, so make sure you are ready before moving on.

In this project, we will make a cute little hair accessory that you can customize in your favorite color!

You can also join my Facebook Group – Our Crochet Community and ask any questions or share your makes with new crochet friends!

Materials Needed:

  • 1 skein of a lighter solid color yarn
We recommend Caron Simply Soft Solids, Red Heart Soft Yarn, Bernat Satin, or I Love This Yarn! These brands can be found at Wal-Mart, JoAnn Fabrics, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore, and any other craft or hobby store that sells yarn.
  • size J or K crochet hook
  • measuring tape
  • scissors
  • tapestry needle
  • 1 hair tie or elastic
