I stumbled across cute carabiners and key rings in my local craft store and I knew that I could crochet wrist lanyards and key-chains for my kids to keep in their backpacks.

Make your own crochet wristlet and key chain.

These cute little lanyards and key-chains can be made in just about any color and size really easily. My kids love them and I like having a keychain in their backpack that will clip on so it doesn’t get lost.

These are the perfect back-to-school crochet gifts as well! You could easily make one for your child’s teachers in school colors or to match their room decor.

I made these as wristlet size or short keychains, but you could very easily just extend the length to make a full size neck lanyard too.

Materials

Yarn – Medium (4) yarn of choice – I used Red Heart With Love Premium
