My daughter is heading to middle school and will have a locker for the first time. She asked me to make her something that she could hang on the door that would have a mirror and just a few little pockets to keep some items. Oh, and it has to be colorful and look cute. So, the pattern for this little crochet locker organizer was born.

The organizer is made with a simple half double crochet background and then two straps sewn on to hold a mirror. The bottom folds up and is seamed on the sides to create one large pocket. You can then stitch up the middle of the pocket to create two smaller pockets.

This locker organizer is very easy to customize to your locker size. You can make it wider or thinner, or make it longer if you want deeper pockets. All up to you!

Row 37 – 38 – ch 1, work 1 sc in first st and each st across,

Pockets

Lay flat with wrong side facing up. Fold up bottom third of rectangle to make the pocket. I folded up 4 inches.

Sl st to seam each side. Turn right side out.

Using the same yarn, thread your tapestry needle and stitch up the middle of the large pocket to create two separate pockets.

Mirror Holding Strips

For the mirror, crochet a chain that will match the height of your mirror, then work 2 rows of sc and finish off. Make 2 of these strips.

Using your tapestry needle, sew on the strips approximately 2 inches from each edge. After sewing on the top, use the mirror to see where to sew the bottom of the strip.

Slide the mirror in from the side, under the two strips.

Finish and weave in ends.

Tips and Other Ideas

  • Use favorite colors to add some style to the locker.
  • Get removable hooks to hold the organizer and if you use two or three hooks, they can also store an extra pencil.
  • The size can be adjusted to fit any locker. Just add or remove rows or stitches in each row to resize.
