The crochet grit stitch II is a simple stitch that gives a bit of texture and flair to a pattern without overwhelming the look of the piece. I wanted something that was a tighter stitch that would give me a warm and cozy piece without just resorting back to the single crochet again. I love the single crochet, but I was looking to branch out a little.
As you can imagine, there is a regular grit stitch. This is a variation on the single grit stitch. The grit stitch is worked with just single crochet stitches, whereas the grit stitch II is worked with a combination of single and double crochet stitches. It is sometimes called the mixed grit stitch.
